NIRF 2024: PAU ranks third in Agriculture
NIRF Rankings: PAU secures third position among India's top Agricultural Institutes
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has retained its third position among agricultural and allied sector institutes across India, according to the latest National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings. PAU Vice-Chancellor Satbir Singh Gosal highlighted that while the university is ranked third, the top two positions are held by research institutes, making PAU the highest-ranked agricultural university in the country among 75 others.
Overall rankings drop slightly
Despite maintaining its top spot in agriculture, PAU saw a slight decline in other categories. In the overall category, the university dropped from 74th last year to 80th this year. In the top 100 universities category, PAU moved from 54th to 57th. Vice-Chancellor Gosal attributed these changes to the addition of new universities to the rankings. Additionally, PAU was ranked 30th in a newly introduced category of top 50 state public universities but did not make it to the top 50 research institutes list this year.
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) from Punjab also made it to the rankings, standing 24th among the top 40 agricultural and allied sector institutes. Despite some slips, PAU remains a leading institution in agricultural education and research in India.
