No White Christmas in sight for Shimla
Shimla set to miss out on White Christmas once again
The meteorological office in Shimla has predicted rain and snow in isolated places across Himachal Pradesh due to the influence of a feeble western disturbance. While the disturbance began impacting the state on Friday night, the chances of a white Christmas in Shimla are considered low. However, higher reaches of the state capital and adjoining Kinnaur district might experience snowfall.
Anticipated conditions and temperature trends
Under the influence of this weather system, light to moderate rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla, and Sirmaur. There's a possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, and Kinnaur districts on Saturday.

Minimum night temperatures have seen a noticeable rise across the region, with Samdho in Lahaul and Spiti recording the lowest temperature in the state at minus 0.1°C. On the other hand, maximum temperatures have exceeded normal levels, with Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur registering the highest daytime temperature of 22.8°C.
