Alcaraz struggled to find his rhythm and missed an opportunity to break Djokovic in the opening game. The third set saw Alcaraz break Djokovic early on and then again in a marathon fifth game that lasted 26 minutes, featuring 13 deuces and six saved break points by Djokovic. Alcaraz maintained his momentum with a quick service game, taking just two minutes, and broke Djokovic once more, leaving him two sets to one ahead.
