Simran wins Bronze in 200m T12 final

Paris Paralympics: Simran secures Bronze in Women’s 200m T12 final

India’s Simran won the bronze medal in the women’s 200m T12 final at the Paralympics on Saturday, finishing with a personal best time of 24.75 seconds. Simran, who is the reigning world champion, overcame many challenges throughout her life to reach the podium. The T12 category is for athletes with visual impairments.

Overcoming life’s obstacles

Simran was born prematurely and spent 10 weeks in an incubator, where doctors discovered her visual impairment. Despite facing hardships, including her father’s illness and passing, she became a world champion in Kobe, Japan, earlier this year. Though she finished fourth in the 100m event, her 200m performance secured her a proud spot on the Paralympic podium.
