PM unveils 100 "Kisan Drones," novel and exciting initiative
As he launched 100 'Kisan drones' in various regions of the country for spraying pesticides and other farm products, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that India's growing competence in the drone sector will provide the world with new leadership.
On Friday, Prime Minister Modi unveiled the drones, which officials described as a "very novel and exciting initiative" for farmers.
The prime minister stated in his speech that India is preparing for a new culture of drone start-ups. Their numbers will soon reach thousands, up from over 200 presently, resulting in a tremendous increase in job prospects.
He stated that his government will ensure that the sector's development is not hampered and that it has already implemented various reforms and legislative steps to help it grow.
This is an example of how far the country can go if policies are in place, Modi added, stressing that until recently, drones were largely linked with the defense sector.
This is a new chapter in delivering contemporary farming facilities in the twenty-first century, and it will not only prove to be a watershed moment in the drone industry's development, but it will also open up inexhaustible possibilities, he said.
The prime minister stated that his government did not waste time worrying about opening up the drone business, but instead put faith in India's young potential and moved forward with a fresh approach. In the Budget and policy initiatives, he noted, his government has prioritized technology and innovation.
Drones have been utilized in the 'Swamitva Yojana,' which is aimed at creating a record of land ownership in villages and distributing medications and vaccines, according to Modi.
He believes that 'kisan drones' are the start of a new revolution. Farmers will be able to employ high-capacity drones in the future to deliver their produce, such as fruits, vegetables, and flowers, to markets in a short amount of time, increasing their income.
