Post Poll Debacle, BSP to Hold Rallies, Debates to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), as a show of strength post-poll debacle in the UP polls, is set to organise debates and hold rallies to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14.

The BSP bagged only one assembly seat in the recent UP poll, its worst performance in the state elections so far.

BSP has asked its workers to prepare for Ambedkar Jayanti from the zonal level. Instructions have been given to the party workers to organize debates, rallies, etc., to mark the occasion in every zone of the state. As per BSP sources, party Chief Mayawati is likely to participate in celebrations and events organized by the Lucknow zone party workers at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Smarak.

This event also will be the first time BSP will be holding a grand celebration of the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar post the Covid pandemic. The zonal coordinators of all 18 zones of the state will be the chief guests of the functions in their respective areas. The district chiefs of BSP will also be responsible for taking people from their districts to these functions. 

By conducting this huge celebration, the party is looking to put up a show of strength post-Uttar Pradesh assembly election drubbing while also giving out a compelling message to its cadres at the same time. The BSP also aims to give out a strong message that its base voter, majorly from the SC/ST community, is still intact with the party.

Preparations for the grand celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti by BSP are already underway in Lucknow. Audio messages based on the life of BR Ambedkar are expected to be played on the occasion.
