Punjab, Haryana shiver in cold wave

Cold Wave continues to grip Punjab and Haryana

Cold weather continued to affect many areas of Punjab and Haryana on Monday. The coldest place in Punjab was Ballowal Saunkhri in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, where the minimum temperature dropped to 6.6 degrees Celsius, according to the meteorological office.

Other parts of Punjab also recorded low temperatures. Amritsar’s minimum temperature was 7.9 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. Ludhiana reported 8.6 degrees, Patiala 8.4 degrees, Pathankot 9.3 degrees, Bathinda 7.4 degrees, and Gurdaspur 8.0 degrees Celsius.

Chilly conditions across Haryana

In Haryana, temperatures also remained low. Ambala recorded 9.9 degrees Celsius, Hisar 9.4 degrees, Karnal 8.5 degrees, Narnaul 7.5 degrees, Bhiwani 10.0 degrees, and Sirsa 12.0 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a low of 9.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.

Additionally, some areas in both states experienced foggy conditions, adding to the winter chill.
