CM Mann promotes rural tourism for Punjab's growth
CM Mann focuses on rural tourism to boost Punjab's economic development
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is taking bold steps to promote Punjab's tourism sector, focusing on rural and farm-based tourism. With initiatives aimed at boosting the economy and improving the lives of farmers, the state government is prioritizing innovative tourism policies.
Promoting farm stay experiences
The concept of "farm stay" is becoming increasingly popular, offering city dwellers a chance to experience rural life. In line with this global trend, the Punjab government has introduced a farm tourism policy to encourage tourists to visit villages and stay on farms. This initiative provides visitors a peaceful escape and showcases Punjab’s rich culture and traditions.
To further enhance tourism, the government is actively developing the "Rangla Punjab" initiative, which highlights the beauty and heritage of the state. By emphasizing rural and agro-tourism, the government aims to attract more tourists while creating additional income opportunities for farmers.

Success stories and new developments
The results of these initiatives are already visible. For instance, Hansali village in Fatehgarh Sahib was recognized as the best village in September last year. Chief Minister Mann has highlighted that integrating agriculture with tourism not only boosts the economy but also benefits farmers financially.
Additionally, plans to establish a "Film City" are underway. Punjab’s scenic villages, sacred sites, and historical landmarks are being linked with tourism. The Film City will attract the entertainment industry, further promoting the state as a unique tourist destination.
CM Mann pointed out that many countries rely on tourism for economic stability, and Punjab has the potential to do the same. With its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, the government is committed to reviving and strengthening Punjab's tourism sector. These efforts aim to make the state a top choice for both domestic and international tourists while fostering economic growth.
