Raghav Chadha sees ‘Win-Win’ in Congress-AAP Alliance

Haryana Elections: Raghav Chadha highlights ‘Win-Win’ strategy for Congress-AAP Alliance

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha announced that discussions between AAP and the Congress for a pre-poll alliance in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections are ongoing. According to a PTI report, the two parties are negotiating seat-sharing arrangements but have not yet reached a final decision. The talks are described as progressing in a "positive" direction. Chadha emphasized that the AAP would only proceed with the alliance if it benefits both parties, calling it a "win-win situation."

Chadha also mentioned that AAP and Congress are working together to focus on the needs of the people of Haryana rather than individual party interests. However, if an agreement is not reached, AAP may walk away from the alliance before the nomination deadline on September 12.

Seat negotiations still underway

According to reports, AAP is seeking 10 seats to contest, while Congress is willing to offer only seven. Deepak Babaria, Congress's Haryana in-charge, confirmed that other smaller parties like CPI (M) and the Samajwadi Party have also approached Congress, seeking limited seat allocations to make their presence felt in the state.

Haryana’s assembly election will be held on October 5, and the results will be counted on October 8. Both parties are hopeful that they can finalize the alliance soon and work together to compete for the state's 90 assembly seats.
