Chandigarh University's founder-chancellor, Satnam Singh Sandhu, aged 54, has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha, receiving commendation from Vice-President and Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sandhu, credited with establishing Chandigarh Group of Colleges in 2001 and Chandigarh University in 2012, is not only an academician but also an agriculturist.
