Kanwar Yatra and its Significance
The Kanwar Yatra is an annual pilgrimage taken by devotees, known as Kanwariyas, to places like Haridwar and Gaumukh. The yatra involves a grand procession of devotees carrying holy water from the Ganges River to offer at their local Shiva temples. After a hiatus of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's yatra is expected to draw a significant crowd.

Considering the influx of Kanwariyas during the sacred month of Sawan, the District Magistrate of Moradabad has announced a temporary closure of all schools and colleges from August 26 to August 28.
