Simplified Guidelines for CBSE Class 10 and 12 Admissions and Exams in 2024

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided a schedule for various aspects of class 10 and 12 admissions and exams in 2024. These guidelines aim to ensure that all necessary activities are completed on time for the upcoming examinations.

Submission of List of Candidates (LOC)

The process of submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for classes 10 and 12 is crucial. This process will start on August 14 and continue until September 13, without incurring any late fees. However, schools will still be allowed to submit the LOC with late fees from September 14 to 22.

Direct Admissions and Issue Resolution:

Schools are required to handle admissions carefully. They need to separately compile cases of direct admissions for classes 10 and 12. These cases should be sent to the relevant regional office. Any problems related to deficiencies in admission cases must be resolved by August 31.
In instances of direct admission changes and modifications to subjects due to a parent's government job transfer after July 15, schools must notify the regional office within 7 days of admission. Schools also have time to gather data about students with special needs, address any deficiencies, and submit the details by August 31.

Subject Change Requests:

After students request changes in subjects, schools must create a list of these changes and share it with the regional office. Any issues related to these changes should be resolved, and the accurate subject names should be submitted in the List of Candidates (LOC) by August 31.
Attendance tracking is essential. Schools should maintain attendance records for classes 10 and 12 up to January 1 of the academic session. These records need to be submitted by January 5. If there are any discrepancies, schools will be notified by January 15 and will have until January 20 to address them. Approvals from CBSE will be given by January 31.

Olympiad and Sports Requests:

Students interested in participating in olympiads or sports competitions must submit their requests by December. Schools will then forward these requests to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) or the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education for recommendations. By December 31, the schools need to send the requests to the regional office, which will finalize approvals by January 15.
These straightforward guidelines provided by CBSE are designed to streamline the admission and exam process for classes 10 and 12 in 2024. By adhering to these guidelines, schools can ensure the successful completion of necessary tasks, contributing to the smooth conduct of the examinations.
