Slice of Heaven: India Serves the World's Cheapest Domino's Pizza at Just $0.60!

Amidst the impact of inflation in India, American fast-food giants are finding ways to attract consumers with affordable meals. Domino's, the world's largest pizza brand, has introduced what is claimed to be the least expensive pizza globally. Priced at 49 rupees (approximately $0.60), this seven-inch pie has become a star on the "celebration menu" launched by Domino's Pizza India division in February. The company leveraged social media, including YouTube, to promote the budget-friendly product.

INFLATION IN INDIA

India, being the world's most populous nation and a top market for pizza after the U.S., is grappling with inflationary pressures as its post-pandemic economy strives for recovery. To cater to price-sensitive customers, other multinational food chains like Burger King have also swiftly joined the trend of offering affordable meals.

Recent data from India's Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation shows that retail consumer prices reached a three-month high of 4.81% last month, compared to 4.25% the previous month. The surge in inflation is impacting consumers' purchasing power, making cost-effective options like the $0.60 Domino's pizza all the more enticing in a challenging economic environment.
