Stree 2 Box Office Day 5: Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao’s Horror-Comedy Rakes in ₹228.45 Crore in India

Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2, the sequel to his hit 2018 film Stree, has been performing well at the box office. The film, part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, has collected an estimated ₹228.45 crore net in India over its first five days. Despite a slight dip in collections on its first Monday, the horror-comedy remains strong.

Impressive Opening and Weekend Numbers

According to reports from Sacnilk.com, Stree 2 began with ₹8.5 crore from special premiers a day before its official release. On its opening day, it collected ₹51.8 crore net in India. While there was a 39.38% drop on Friday, the film earned ₹31.4 crore. However, it picked up momentum over the weekend, with a 39.65% increase on Saturday, collecting ₹43.98 crore. The numbers surged even more on Sunday with ₹55.9 crore, marking a 27.48% growth. On Monday, the film added an estimated ₹37 crore to its total, bringing the five-day collection to ₹228.45 crore in India.

Globally, Stree 2 has crossed the ₹283 crore mark. Maddock Films, the producers, shared on social media that the movie recorded a worldwide weekend gross of ₹283 crore, with an India net total of ₹204 crore. They highlighted how Sunday’s numbers surpassed those of August 15th, reflecting the film’s growing popularity.

Stree 2 picks up where the first film left off, with Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana returning in their previous roles. The plot follows Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), a tailor, and his friends as they face a new threat in their town, Chanderi. This time, they must confront the villain Sarkata and seek help from Stree herself. The film also features a cameo by Varun Dhawan as Bhediya.
