Taslima's surrogacy tweets have sparked a debate.

Writer Taslima Nasreen was slammed on Twitter as she questioned the feelings of women who attain motherhood through surrogacy  and said surrogacy is possible only because there are poor women in society.

Taslima Nasrin, a Bangladeshi-Swedish writer, physician, feminist, secular humanist, and activist, was born on August 25, 1962. She is well-known for her work on women's oppression and religious critique. In Bangladesh, some of her books are prohibited. She has been placed on a no-fly list and has been barred from entering the Bengal region(both from Bangladesh and West Bengal state of India).

She rose to international prominence in the early 1990s as a result of her feminist articles and books, as well as her critique of all "misogynistic" religions.

Nasrin has been a political prisoner since 1994.

She relocated to India in 2004 after spending more than a decade in Europe and the United States, but was expelled from the nation in 2008,despite the fact that she has remained in India on resident permit.

Writer Taslima Nasreen’s opinion on surrogacy, as Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their first baby via surrogacy, has created a flutter on social media. The writer slammed the process of surrogacy and questioned the feelings of mothers who attain motherhood via surrogacy. Social media users criticised the writer’s comment.

"How do those surrogate mothers feel when they get their prepackaged babies?" Do they feel the same way about babies as mothers who give birth to them?" the writer wondered on Twitter.

Because there are poor women, surrogacy is possible. For their own benefit, wealthy people constantly want poverty to exist in society. Adopt a homeless child if you desperately need a child. "Your attributes must be passed down to your children—just it's a selfish egotistical ego," the author explained.

Surrogacy is a personal choice, according to social media users, and in many situations, people choose surrogacy for medical reasons.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced on Saturday midnight that they had become parents via surrogacy. Taslima did not mention Priyanka Chopra in her tweets. According to reports, the celebrity couple had a baby girl who was delivered 12 weeks early.

Surrogacy is a medical procedure in which a woman's egg is fertilised with a man's sperm in a medical procedure, and the embryo is then implanted in the surrogate mother's uterus, where the baby is carried in the womb.
