The clubhouse chat attacks Muslim women

The clubhouse chat attacks Muslim women, the panel urges officers to intervene.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has sent a notice to the city's police, requesting that they take action against users of the audio chat app Clubhouse who make vulgar comments about Muslim women.

DCW claimed in a statement that it has asked the Delhi Police's Cybercrime Unit to file a FIR against anyone who had an unpleasant discourse about "Muslim girls being more beautiful than Hindu girls." According to the statement, the panel was informed suo motu of the chat in which "participants are clearly heard uttering filthy, vulgar, and disparaging remarks targeting Muslim women and girls."

The panel demanded that the offenders be arrested right once and that the Delhi police produce a thorough report on the action taken within five days.

"Someone tagged me on Twitter the detailed audio chat on the Clubhouse app which targeted Muslim women and girls and made nasty sexual insults made against them," DCW President Swati Maliwal remarked, expressing his horror at the exchange.

"I am appalled that such occurrences are becoming more common in this country. Stronger action against the perpetrators is required, which is why I have filed a notice to the Delhi Police, requesting an immediate FIR and arrests in the case," according to the statement. Ms Maliwal was quoted as saying.

This comes in the wake of the Bulli Bai issue, in which notable Muslim women of various ages, including journalists, lawyers, and activists, were targeted in an online 'auction.'

The revolting 'auction' was similar to the Sulli offers, which drew outrage last year by offering users a'sulli,' a derogatory name for Muslim women used by right-wing trolls.

An audio clip of the Clubhouse conversation has gone viral on social media, causing outrage and resulting in harsh punishment for individuals engaged.
