The Somnath Temple is a symbol of faith and culture: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the Somnath Temple is the essence of faith and tradition, with over one crore pilgrims visiting it every year.

The Prime Minister complimented the Government of Gujarat and the Somnath Temple Trust on the mission during the inauguration ceremony of the fresh new Circuit House near Somnath Temple in Gujarat.

"Somnath is the essence of faith and culture, with over one crore pilgrims passing through each year, bringing new thoughts and experiences with them."

The circumstances surrounding the destruction of the Somnath Temple, as well as the circumstances surrounding its restoration thanks to Sardar Patel's efforts, both have a powerful message for us as we enjoy the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," he added.

"Today is also the first day of operation for the Somnath Circuit House. PM Modi said, "I wholeheartedly congratulate the Government of Gujarat, the Somnath Temple Trust, and all of you on this historic occasion."

He went on to say that this building has been created in such a way that guests will be able to enjoy a 'Sea View' while staying here.

"I've been told that this building was created with a 'Sea View' in mind for those who stay here." That is, when people sit here peacefully in their chambers, they would be able to watch the sea waves and the peak of Somnath," the Prime Minister explained.

PM Modi stated that the new Circuit House would serve as a tourism centre, and that the landscaping has been done in such a way that each accommodation has a view of the sea.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), lakhs of worshippers from India and beyond visit Somnath Temple each year. The need for a new Circuit House was realised because the current government complex was too far away from the temple. The new Circuit House was built at a cost of about Rs 30 crore and is located near the Somnath Temple, according to the PMO.

Suites, VIP and premium rooms, a convention room, an auditorium corridor, and other first-class amenities are available. The landscaping has been done in such a way that each accommodation gets a view of the sea, it added.
