Suriya, Vikram, Mammootty, and Fahadh Faasil donate to Kerala after Wayanad Landslide

Heavy rains and landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, have caused significant loss of life and damage. Many celebrities have stepped up to help the victims by donating to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.

Generous contributions

Tamil actor Vikram donated ₹20 lakh to the relief fund, expressing his sorrow over the disaster that has left over 150 people dead and many more injured or missing. His manager announced the donation on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Malayalam actors Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan donated a combined total of ₹35 lakh. Mammootty shared his commitment to further contributions if needed, emphasizing the urgency of helping those whose lives have been turned upside down.

Actor couple Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim also contributed ₹25 lakh, hoping their donation will provide necessary aid during this tough time. They expressed their solidarity with the affected people.

Tamil actors Suriya, Jyotika, and Karthi made a collective donation of ₹50 lakh. Rashmika Mandanna added ₹10 lakh to the relief efforts. 

Impact of the landslides

The landslides in Wayanad were triggered by heavy rains and have resulted in numerous deaths and injuries. Rescue operations are ongoing as some people are still missing. The generous donations from these celebrities aim to support the ongoing relief and recovery efforts.
