Tragic death of BJP worker at Union Minister's residence sparks investigation in Uttar Pradesh
In a distressing incident in an Uttar Pradesh village, a young man, Vinay Srivastava, described as a BJP worker, was found dead with a bullet wound to his temple. This incident occurred at the residence of Kaushal Kishore, a Union BJP minister, in Begariya village in Lucknow district. The minister's involvement has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Minister's response
Kaushal Kishore, who serves as the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, acknowledged that the pistol found at the scene belonged to his second son, Vikas. He clarified that no family members were present in the house at the time of the incident, as his son Vikas had traveled to New Delhi to visit his ailing mother. The minister expressed shock over the incident and informed the police.

Brother's account
Vinay's brother revealed that Vinay and a group of young men, who were also associated with the BJP, often stayed with Vikas in his house. He alleged that Vinay was invited to the minister's house for a party and was subsequently killed. The family dismissed claims that Vinay had committed suicide, emphasizing that he was found with a gunshot wound.
Police investigation
The police have initiated an investigation into the murder, which they believe stemmed from a dispute during a card game played for money among BJP workers. Vinay had reportedly lost Rs 15,000 in the game and was shot by the winner. The pistol used in the crime was discovered under a bed and was registered in Vikas Kishore's name. Three individuals, identified as Ankit Verma, Ajay Rawat, and Shamim Ahmad, have been detained in connection with the murder.

Family history
Notably, the Kishore family has faced previous tragedies. In October 2020, their eldest son, Akash, passed away due to kidney disease. Additionally, in March 2021, Ayush Kishore's wife, Ankita Singh, attempted self-harm and accused her husband of abandonment. Ayush had also faced legal trouble after accusing Ankita's brother of shooting him, but he was later arrested for allegedly shooting himself and framing her brother. He is currently out on bail.
