TTD Chairman urges ‘no-fly’ zone for Tirupati Temple

Tirupati Temple should be declared ‘No-Fly’ Zone to respect sanctity: TTD Chairman

The chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), BR Naidu, has requested the central government to declare the area around Tirumala Tirupati Temple a "no-fly" zone. He urged Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu to take action to protect the temple’s sacredness and spiritual significance.

Naidu said that low-flying planes and helicopters disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the temple. He explained that stopping aerial activities above the temple follows the principles of Agama Shastra, which are ancient religious texts. This step would also respect the faith and sentiments of the devotees.

Temple economy and importance

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently said that India's temple economy is worth ₹6 lakh crore. He described it as the largest economic activity in the country, running throughout the year. He emphasized that while technology plays a big role in modern life, it cannot replace faith in God. He added that people must do their duty while trusting in divine destiny.
