UK Sikhs adopted resolution, honouring PM Modi

The Sikh community in the United Kingdom has begun to fight back against the Khalistanis' anti-India campaign. In recent months, the latter has organized a number of protest marches in the United Kingdom.

On Sunday, however, Sikh community leaders convened at Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Park Avenue, Southall, and voted a resolution thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for doing so much for the Sikh community and assisting in the settlement of the disputes.

They also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for proclaiming December 26 as 'Veer Baal Diwas' and declared it a national holiday.

According to a statement released by the Sikh leaders and gurdwara committee office bearers, individuals advancing a "factually incorrect" narrative about India and its current government were questioned in the congregation.

The passing of the resolution is being hailed as a daring move by the local community in the United Kingdom, which had previously kept silent and chose not to confront a handful of Khalistanis spreading anti-India propaganda.

On the 365th anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh's birth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that from 2022, December 26 will be known as 'Veer Baal Diwas.' This will be a monument to Guru Gobind Singh's sons' valour and martyrdom, he remarked.

"Guru Tegh Bahadur's valour and his sacrifice against Aurangzeb teaches us how the country fights against terror and religious fanaticism. Similarly, the life of the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib is also a living example of tenacity and sacrifice at every step." In December of last year, Prime Minister Modi remarked this while speaking at the Gurpurab celebrations at Gurudwara Lakhpat Sahib in Gujarat.

He had previously praised the Sikh Gurus' accomplishments, which he claimed were not confined to society and spirituality, but also aided India at various times.
