The Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) recently hosted the Innovative Farmer Awards 2024 as part of the Uttar Pradesh AgroTech 2024 event at the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research in Lucknow. The awards ceremony recognized ten farmers from Uttar Pradesh for their exceptional contributions to agriculture.
Encouragement for greater innovations
Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak, served as the chief guest and presented the awards to the deserving farmers. He emphasized the importance of recognizing farmers' outstanding work, stating that it would inspire them to pursue even greater innovations in agriculture. Pathak reiterated the government's commitment to empowering farmers with technological advancements and marketing support.

Pathak highlighted Uttar Pradesh's leading position in the production of various commodities such as wheat, sugarcane, milk, and vegetables. He stressed the need for farmers in the state to strive for increased incomes in line with the Prime Minister's vision of doubling their earnings.
Acknowledgment and appreciation
The ICFA received commendation from Pathak for organizing such a significant agricultural exhibition, showcasing schemes and technologies spanning seeds, fertilizers, crop protection, agricultural machinery, and drones. The event served as a platform for farmers to explore innovations and modern farming techniques.
The ten awarded farmers hailed from different districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Ayodhya, Barabanki, Etawah, Fatehpur, Hardoi, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Raebarelli, and Unnao. Their innovative approaches to agriculture were recognized and celebrated, highlighting their vital role in driving agricultural progress in the state.

Dr. MJ Khan, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture, expressed gratitude to the minister and underscored the significance of such events in fostering farmer-innovation partnerships. The announcement of the next edition of U.P AgroTech 2025 scheduled for December 18-20, 2025, was also made, signifying ongoing efforts to promote agricultural advancements and prosperity in Uttar Pradesh.
