UP gets best tableau award at the Republic Day parade

At this year's Republic Day parade, Uttar Pradesh's tableau, based on the theme 'One District, One Product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham,' was adjudged the best among 12 States and Union Territories (UT), with the Ministries of Education and Civil Aviation declared joint winners among Ministries and Departments.

The Navy's marching unit was awarded best among the services, while the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was named best among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and auxiliary forces.

Furthermore, through the MyGov platform, the general public was allowed to vote for the finest marching contingents and greatest tableaux in the popular choice category for the first time. According to the Defence Ministry, the online poll took place from January 25 to January 31.

In a statement, the ministry said, “Three panels of judges were appointed to assess the performance of the marching contingents from the Services, CAPFs/other auxiliary forces, and tableaux from various States/Union Territories and Central Ministries/departments.”

Karnataka took second prize for their tableau based on the theme of 'Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts.' According to the Ministry, Meghalaya took third place for its tableau on 'Meghalaya's 50 years of Statehood and its tribute to women-led cooperative societies and SHGs.'

'National Education Policy' was the theme of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship's tableau, while 'Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik' was the theme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The parade featured nine tableaux from the Central Ministries and Departments.

According to the statement, “The tableaux of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs [CPWD], based on the theme ‘Subhash @125’ and the ‘Vande Bharatam’ dance group have been selected for the special prize category.”

Awards based on public vote

The Indian Air Force's marching contingent was voted the best among the Services by the public, while the Central Reserve Police Force topped the CAPFs and other services' MyGov charts.

In the popular choice category, Maharashtra was voted the finest tableau among the States/UTs. The theme of the tableau was 'Biodiversity and State Bio-symbols of Maharashtra.'

“The second place went to Uttar Pradesh [popular choice], while the tableau of Jammu and Kashmir on theme ‘Changing face of Jammu & Kashmir’ finished third,” as per the statement.

Based on public voting, the Ministry of Communication/Department of Posts' tableau was chosen as the best among the Central Ministries/Departments. The topic of the event was 'India Post: 75 Years of Resolve - Women Empowerment,' according to the statement.

The Indian Navy marching contingent was adjudged to be the finest marching contingent among the three Services based on the panels' evaluations. Twelve states and a union territory were represented among the 21 tableaux chosen for the Republic Day parade.

In the category of Central Ministries/Departments, the tableaux of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Civil Aviation were awarded joint winners. The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship's tableau was themed 'National Education Policy,' while the Ministry of Civil Aviation's tableau was themed 'Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik.' The parade featured nine tableaux representing various central ministries and departments.
