UP’s Maha Kumbh Tableau takes top spot

Uttar Pradesh’s Maha Kumbh Tableau ranks first in prestigious display

The Ministry of Defence has announced the results of the Republic Day parade competition. Uttar Pradesh’s Maha Kumbh-themed tableau won first place among all states and union territories (UTs) that participated in the event. The tableau was titled “Mahakumbh 2025 - Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” and highlighted the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Kumbh Mela.

Judging and results

A panel of judges evaluated the performances of various groups, including marching contingents from the armed forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and different government departments. The Jammu & Kashmir Rifles won the best marching contingent award in the armed forces category, while the Delhi Police was named the best contingent among CAPFs and auxiliary forces.

After Uttar Pradesh, Tripura’s tableau, “Eternal Reverence: The Worship of 14 Deities in Tripura - Kharchi Puja,” secured second place. Andhra Pradesh took third place with its theme, “Etikoppaka Bommalu - Eco-Friendly Wooden Toys.” Among the Central government departments, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs won for its tableau, “Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.”
