Forces in India and abroad struggle to accept Nation's progress: VP Dhankhar

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted India’s remarkable economic progress, stating that the country is making significant strides in development. Speaking at a program on Wednesday, he emphasized that the nation is on a path of economic transformation, which has taken it to the fifth-largest economy in the world. He confidently predicted that India would rise to the third position globally within the next couple of years.

Reflecting on the past, Dhankhar noted that a decade ago, the Indian economy faced challenges and instability. Today, however, the scenario has completely changed, with robust growth across various sectors. He also spoke about the government’s vision for a “Developed India 2047,” asserting that it is no longer just a dream but a concrete goal. He pointed out that achieving this vision will require a significant increase in per capita income, which must grow by eight times.

The vice president underscored the importance of nationalism and collective well-being. According to him, true progress lies in ensuring the prosperity and happiness of every citizen. He stressed the need to focus on empowering small-scale industries, rural industries, and cottage industries to create a more inclusive and balanced economy.

Addressing national challenges

Dhankhar expressed concerns over certain forces within and outside the country that he claimed are attempting to disrupt India’s progress. He warned that efforts to divide and insult the nation’s institutions are being carried out in a planned manner. Calling for vigilance, he urged citizens to counter these anti-national narratives effectively.

In his speech, the vice president stressed the importance of maintaining balance in society. While he acknowledged the significance of individual rights, he also emphasized that a sense of duty must accompany these rights. He advocated for a collective effort to protect the environment and ensure sustainable development for future generations.

Dhankhar also lauded the new education policy, which he described as a milestone achieved after three decades of deliberation. This policy, he explained, places a strong emphasis on skill development alongside formal education. He argued that equipping people with both knowledge and skills is vital for the country’s progress.

Skill development and Environmental Responsibility

Speaking at the launch of a skill development center, Dhankhar highlighted the critical role of skills in building a prosperous nation. He encouraged the youth to embrace opportunities for skill enhancement, which would help them contribute to India’s growth. The vice president also spoke passionately about environmental conservation, urging everyone to take active steps to protect the planet.

In conclusion, Dhankhar reaffirmed his belief in the power of nationalism and the collective strength of the Indian people. He called for unity, responsibility, and a shared commitment to achieving the country’s ambitious goals for 2047. By focusing on education, skill development, and sustainability, he expressed confidence that India would continue its journey toward becoming a global leader in development and innovation.
