Pope Francis remains stable, next update on saturday

Pope Francis' health stable, Vatican to give next update on Saturday

Pope Francis is recovering well from double pneumonia, and his condition is stable, according to the Vatican. Doctors said there have been no new health problems, and he has not had a fever or breathing issues. Because of his steady progress, they decided that the next official health update will be given on Saturday.

Even though his health is stable, doctors are still being careful because of his age and medical history. Pope Francis continues to receive respiratory therapy, rest, and pray while recovering in the hospital.

Pope’s routine and recovery

The pope has been sleeping with a special breathing mask to help his lungs expand at night. During the day, he receives oxygen through a nasal tube. He is also doing physical therapy as part of his treatment. The Vatican confirmed that he spent his time working, praying, and resting.

On Wednesday, Pope Francis marked the start of Lent by receiving ashes on his forehead and making a phone call to a priest in Gaza. Since he could not attend the official Ash Wednesday service, a cardinal led the procession and delivered a message of support for the pope.

The pope was also supposed to join a spiritual retreat this weekend, but he will now participate in "spiritual communion" instead. The retreat's theme, chosen before he got sick, is "Hope in eternal life."
